Music and audio streaming application

About Spotify
The Spotify desktop client streams the catalogue of music, podcasts and audiobooks, with a local cache so playback survives a brief network drop. Beyond playback it does playlist management, collaborative and shared playlists, a crossfade and gapless engine, and Connect — handing the current stream to a phone, speaker or TV without interrupting it.
There is an equaliser, a normalisation setting for consistent loudness across tracks, and offline downloads for subscribers.
Licence status: the application itself is free to install, and the free tier works with advertising and some playback restrictions. Ad-free listening, higher bitrates and offline downloads require a paid Premium subscription. Install from Spotify's own site.
